I emphasize the budget cuts by the National Institute for Security and Health (NIOSH) and the occupational safety agency (Osha). These agencies are of essential importance for the protection of employees from fatal but avoidable diseases such as silicosis, which are caused by inhaling silicon dust dust in industries such as construction and mining. The latest reports show that Niosh Staffing has been reduced by over 90%, which hinders its ability to research security at work (the Atlantic, May 2025). The OSHA is faced with a reduction of $ 95 million, threatening inspections and the enforcement of life-saving standards. These cuts endanger American workers directly. This is not a strategic government – it is dangerous neglect. I ask you to immediately restore the full financing and reject any guideline that affects the safety of the workers.
