On August 22, 2025, Ørsted's subsidiary Revolution Wind LLC, a 50/50 -Joint Venture with Skyborn Renewables from Skyborn from Global Infrastructure Partner, received an order that the project to terminate the activities in the external continental shelf in connection with the revolution Wind Project from the Us of the ocean (boem) (boem). Revolution wind corresponds to the order and takes suitable steps to stop offshore activities and to ensure the safety of employees and the environment.
The project started the offshore building after the final state approval of Boem last year. The project is 80%, all offshore foundations installed and 45 of 65 wind turbines installed.
Ørsted evaluates all options to solve the matter quickly. This includes the inclusion of the relevant approval authorities for the necessary clarification or solution as well as through potential legal proceedings, whereby the goal of continuing in the second half of 2026 with continued project construction towards cod.
Revolution Wind is fully approved after he has secured all the necessary permission for federal and state permits, including the letter of approval for construction and operating plan on November 17, 2023 after reviews that began more than nine years ago. Revolution Wind has 20-year electricity sales agreements to bring 400 MW of electricity to Rhode Island and 304 MW to Connecticut to supply over 350,000 houses in both states to cover their growing energy requirements. As a reference, South Fork Wind, which borders on revolution and uses the same turbine technology, delivered a reliable energy of New York to 53%in the first half of 2025, at level with the state's Baseload power sources.
Ørsted is investing in American energy generation, the network upgrades, the port infrastructure and a supply chain, including US shipbuilding and production, which extend to more than 40 states. Revolution Wind already employs hundreds of local union workers who are supported both in construction activities and offshore activities. The US offshore wind projects from Ørsted have so far have around 4 million union hours, of which 2 million are wind with revolution.
Ørsted evaluates the potential financial effects of this development, taking into account a series of scenarios, including court proceedings. In due course, Ørsted will advise the market on the potential effects of the plans announced on August 11, 2025 (announcement of the companies 12/2025) in order to carry out a right to right. Existing shareholders and potential investors will be expected from the company for further announcements.
