Schauzalleiter from FMCSA after only 2 weeks in the job

Washington – Adrienne Camire no longer acts and deputy administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration after spending about two weeks at work.

No reason was given for the departure of Camire, who worked for the Federal Highway Administration during the first term of President Donald Trump as the main consultant of the Federal Highway Administration. FMCSA did not immediately answer a request for comment.

The Ministry of Transport appointed Camire in the new positions on March 7. However, Camire was not listed on the management side of the agency according to the online updates on March 19.

A press release in which its appointment was announced was removed by the DOT website. A publication on January 31, which she names as FMCSA Senior Advisor.

The FMCSA guide page shows Sue Lawless as the executive director and Chief Safety Officer of the agency and Jesse Elison as Chief Counsel.

Lawless took over the deputy deputy administrator after Robin Hutcheson's resignation of January 2024, who was confirmed to the first permanent administrator of the agency in the Senate in almost three years after the legislators approved their nomination in September 2022.

Before Hutcheson, the FMCSA had left without constant leaders since Raymond Martinez resigned in October 2019. Jim Mullen, Wiley Deck and Meera Joshi served as deputy agency administrators in the meantime.
