Sheffield Forgelemasters was granted the building permit for the construction of a landmark 30,000 M2 processing facility on Brownfield Land in the Meadowhall district of Sheffield.
The new facility is located on a 16-hectare property in Weedon Street and forms one of the most advanced large machining systems in the world to support the factory of the Defense of Defense ownership for the British defense programs.
With the work to prepare the already running location, the building will correspond to a space that corresponds to 12 Olympic swimming pools and contains some of the largest and most advanced vertical five-axis drops that have ever been produced.

“The sheer scale of the building will make it an iconic landmark and put the construction of the largest open smithy line in the shade in the shade, which is also underway at our adjacent location in Brightside Lane.”
Plans for the new processing system In detail a main building with a footprint of 272.5 x 110 meters, which is 32 meters high, near the Don River and to complement the historical appearance of the existing building.

The 13,000 -ton tunes of Sheffield Fornemasters and the proposed machine workshop will create a new generation of engineers and designers who are trained for working with Industry 4.0 technologies.
