MB-30LO stands out from traditional solutions by offering a significantly milder scent compared to the original MB-30, ensuring improved technician comfort in medical equipment work areas. The oil has an ultra-low VOC content of ≤ 50g/L and is fully compliant with ASTM1868-10 and SCAQMD standards, ensuring safer air quality and meeting the strict environmental regulations of medical manufacturing environmental standards. Classified as non-hazardous according to OSHA 2012, MB-30LO increases workplace safety and simplifies handling requirements in medical manufacturing facilities.
The new honing oil is easily recognizable by its characteristic dark brown/amber appearance. A high flash point above 110°C significantly reduces the risk of fire in metalworking processes common in sterile equipment production areas. A specific gravity of 0.92 (at 60°F) provides predictable performance and system compatibility for tight tolerance medical parts and instruments. The oil's viscosity of 26 cSt (at 40 °C) guarantees optimal lubrication and excellent results in both honing and cutting operations for high-precision machining. With a shelf life of five years when properly sealed and stored, medical manufacturing facilities benefit from long storage potential without loss of quality.
Designed for seamless integration, MB-30LO is drop-in compatible with MB-30, LT9X, SHO965 and LP8X. This allows for direct addition or mixing for easy upgrade and conversion into precision honing machines. MB-30LO can also be used to refill machines already running MB-30, eliminating the need for a full system flush and simplifying deployment.
Sunnen's improved formulation contains fewer odor-causing ingredients, further improving the work environment while ensuring premium performance. To ensure cleanliness after honing, parts are best cleaned with an aqueous cleaner, which supports process quality from start to finish for critical medical device and instrument components.
