The newly designed course shows the typical style of Jones and uses the natural topography of the area to create holes that hike through picturesque meadows, forests and gentle hills. In addition to the extraordinary golf experience, the Tamarack Resort offers luxurious accommodations, including well -equipped condominiums, town houses and individual chalets, which ensure comfort and connection to the natural environment. Guests can be pampered in a variety of eating opportunities, from leisure facilities to fine food with ingredients from the region as well as a spa and wellness center, which serves as a sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Tamarack is an all-season target resort with 3,500 hectares of relaxation. The resort is a hub for outdoor activities over the course of the year and offers mountain biking, hiking and water sports on Lake Cascade as well as skiing and snowboarding in winter in warmer months. Practical retail options are also available on site and offer easy access to sporting goods, clothing and other necessities.
The Tamarack Resort currently welcomes guests from the public and offers a wide range of luxurious amenities and leisure activities that everyone can enjoy. However, the resort is subjected to exciting transformation, with a rapidly expanding private club that gains popularity. Since this exclusive community continues to grow, Tamarack Resort plans to switch to an operation model that focuses on the services of its private club members and ultimately develops into a private club course with access to accommodation guests.
Position overview
Title: Director of Agronomy
Reports to: Director of Golf
Monitoring: golf course -maintenance staff
Position description: The director of agronomy will lead all agronomic and maintenance work on the Osprey Meadows Golf Course, a course determined by Robert Trent Jones II, which has recently subjected a complete renovation and growth of growth. The director of agronomy will monitor the condition of lawn grass, irrigation, capital projects and daily course conditioning to ensure that Osprey Meadows will be maintained according to standards for championship caliber. This person will work with the resort management team and work on the departments to align agronomic operations with the wider vision of Tamarack as a first -class destination for four seasons.
Osprey Meadows works between the memorial day and mid -October and is at a height of 5,000 feet. The course will normally see snow between 4 and 8 feet in the winter months.
Essential job functions
Leadership and operations

Monitor the daily maintenance, conditioning and agronomic programming of the golf course and the exercise facilities.

Lead and support the agronomy team, promote a culture of accountability, professionalism and development.

Recruiting, training and keeping top agricultural staff and developing future managers through mentoring and career promotion.
Agronomy & lawn management
-
Implement agronomic programs, including fertility, pest/disease control, ventilation and cultural practices.

Carry regularly and apply proactive measures for lawn health, environmental suppl them and water management.

Make sure that bunkers, greens, t -shirts, fairways and roughs are presented at a level that is expected from a leading course for mountain resort.
Irrigation and capital projects

Manage and maintain the irrigation system (Rainbird), including planning, repairs, upgrades and water tracking.

Plan and carry out long -term agronomic strategies, important capital projects, renovation work and infrastructure improvements.

Serve as a contact point for architects, contractors and consultants during construction or improvement projects.
Budgeting and administration

Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets with accuracy and tax responsibility.

Forecast work, equipment, chemicals and care must maintain the quality and at the same time manage the costs.

Create reports, keep precise records of agronomic activities and ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
Cooperation and communication

Work closely with the Resort management team and the golf business team to align goals and priorities.

Communicate agronomic updates to attribute managers and golf operations through regular reporting and on-course engagement.

Fact as an ambassador for the course and ensure positive relationships with guests, employees and the wider Tamarack community.
Security and conformity

Make sure that all operations hold onto the security standards of Osha, EPA and Federal/Federal/Federal/Federal Functional standards.

Monitoring the safe handling, storage and use of fertilizers, pesticides and chemicals.

Promotion of environmental responsibility and sustainability in all agronomic practices.
Winter and additional responsibilities

Monitoring of Nordic path care of 31 miles hiking trails via the resort. Maintaining the quality and consistency of the guest experience.

Monitor the fountain and water storage tanks.

Work with Mountain Snowmaking Manager via water and system requirements.

Monitoring and maintaining the membership and certification standards of the Audubon Society.

Address and maintenance support for real estate offer rounds a year.

Monitor the fleet maintenance via fleetio and work with the vehicle manager to ensure that all devices are operated efficiently.
Educational requirements

Bachelor or Associate degree in Turstgrass management, agronomy, horticulture or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience requirements
Experience and qualifications
Including, but not limited to the following:

At least 7-10 years of progressive golf courses management experience with multi-course conditions and mountain resort/cold weather and snow conditions preferred.

Proven expertise in lawn grass management, irrigation systems and price improvements and renovation projects.

Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecast and capital planning.

Proven leadership qualities with a story with high employee loyalty and personnel development.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative and accessible management style.

Current pesticide application license (or ability to get in Idaho within 90 days).

GCSAA members, class A or CGCs preferred.
