The following is a letter written by East Lansing George Brookover, who was sent to Elhs Boys basketball coach Ray Mitchell and school officer. The letter was sent on Tuesday, March 18, days after the Trojans after the Trojans had conquered the school's first basketball state since 1958.

On behalf of the entire city of East Lansing, I would like to congratulate you on the championship of the Division 1 High School Boys Basketball State, which you captured on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
