The Department of Procurement Services (DPS) of the City of Chicago exposes the welcome mat for local companies, including those in the construction sector 2025 procurement symposium. The event, which is planned for September 4 at the Malcolm X College, is intended to combine private companies with contractual options from the public sector.
Under the topic of “Partnership for Progress: Procurement that carries out opportunities”, the one -day symposium aims to promote cooperation and to provide companies with the tools and connections that are necessary for cooperation with the city. This corresponds to the declared goal of Mayor Brandon Johnson to make Chicago “open to companies” by expanding just access to city contracts for companies of all sizes and backgrounds.
“This event is about creating valuable opportunities,” said Sharla Roberts, Chief Procurement Officer in the city. “We bring together a variety of professional services and job opportunities and welcome everyone who is fully committed to joint success.”
For general contractors, subcontractors and professional service companies in the AEC industry, the symposium offers a main chance for:
- Get direct access to information on current and upcoming projects in the public sector.
- Building B2G (business-to-government) and B2B (business-to-business) movements through special network meetings.
- Learn more about the city's technical and fair procurement strategies.
The DPS is the city's central authority to procure goods and services and emphasizes its commitment to a fair, transparent and accessible process for all companies, including small companies owned.
