7New's Melbourne reported that a team of engineers is currently working on building a two-story house in the family with 3D printing. 7New's reporter Kristy Mayr says that this house “will be the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere”.
The house has four bedrooms, six bathrooms, an energy evaluation of eight -star energy and is made exclusively from a specially formulated concrete.
Engineers who work at home claim claims that they can withstand fire, floods and even termite attacks.
3D -printed houses do not exclude luxurious interior design practices either. This house in particular is designed for an elevator, a marble floors and a chandelier at the entrance.
Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of this innovation is how much more affordable it is to make compared to traditional houses. “The use of traditional methods was only from my budget,” said the senior engineer. He also claims that the use of 3D printers made the house 30% cheaper.

This technical miracle may be the first of its kind in Australia, but other countries have already experimented with 3D printed houses.
This design is much more sustainable than conventional construction techniques. Frequently used materials such as wood, traditional concrete and steel require considerable energy to transport and produce, and contribute to the design and planet warming gas pollution.
The use of this technology in Australia is financed by state grants of $ 6 million and the University of New South Wales. This house should bring the pioneer project, and it is expected to be completed in just three months.
