The milestones for construction work drive the future of the international airport Memphis.

As Memphis International Airport (MEM), the development that Terminal Modernization and Seismic Program (TMSP) Presses forward at full speed. Led by the TAC teamconsist of Turner Construction CompanyPresent Ardmore RoderickAnd Chris Wood's constructionThe program defines the travel experience at MEM by upgrades in infrastructure, security and passenger comfort.
With an estimated investment of more than 700 million US dollars, TMSP is the largest capital project in the history of the airport. The multi -year program will modernize the main terminal, improve seismic resistance, expand parking systems and provide improved amenities in order to meet the needs of the modern traveler.
Establish progress from scratch
One of the most visible milestones in 2025 is the demolition of Concourse A, which officially began in early July. Concourse A is released to create a critical new infrastructure. The demolition is expected to be wrapped in early 2026.
Nearby, the crews make the Transit tunnel -infill ahead, an important seismic security initiative that supports the upcoming reconstruction of the external commercial drive. The tunnel, which was once used for the transit under the terminal, is filled with cellular concrete, a light, porous material that was developed to improve structural stability. As soon as the room is complete, the room corresponds to the modern seismic standards and continues to enable upgrades that are upgraded above the ground, including the relocation of groundwater pumps.
Improvement of passenger access
One of the most effective developments this summer was the reopening of the interior trip and B-GUE on departure that was completed in June. This improves the flow of traffic and safety at the top level of the terminal and ensures smooth arrivals and descents for travelers and co -vehicles.
In the meantime, the new commercial ground traffic lane will continue at the luggage damage level of the short -term parking garage. In this new area, access for taxis, shuttles, limousines and passenger services is rationalized. As soon as this new lane is opened, soil traffic will move so that work can begin with the exchange of Outer Commercial Drive, a two -year project to expand and strengthen the curb on departure level.
Preparation for a new terminal
While the early phases focus on enabling the infrastructure, another goal of the TMSP is the complete modernization of the terminal of MEM, which is planned for 2027 and completes by 2030. The work is good and the vision is brave:
● Extended luggage and ticket areas for an improved flow
● A relocated, larger TSA security -Creening -Checkpoint
● New escalators and stairs to facilitate finding the path
● Seismic retrofitting for improved resilience
● Conservation of the legendary architecture of the middle of the century in the middle of the century
The support of this vision is the new building for administration/CBIs, which is now in the design phase. In Renderings, published by Design Partner Alliiance in June, the building has modern surfaces and slightly filled interiors that operate both functionality and beauty. The construction is expected to begin in autumn as soon as a termination is completed.

More intelligent parking spaces, seamless trip
The park amplification of the passengers is also in progress and already makes a difference. In autumn 2024, MEM added 800 new rooms to his yellow property. This year, a new parking ticketing and payment system, LPR cameras (Nicly Plate Recognition) and a parking guide to improve security, reduce overload and to support travelers became easier to find their cars.
With regard to the requirements, the availability of parking spaces in real time, online reservations and the instructions for placement via the MEM website are accessible in order to make travel planning even more efficient.
Investments in the future
When we move until 2025, the dynamics are clear: Memphis International Airport is transformed into a more resilient, more accessible gate for the region.
At the head of this transformation, Turner drives the coordination, execution and progress and ensures that each milestone meets the expectations and drives the entire project with clarity and purpose.
The TAC team is proud to lead the indictment in building the future for MEM and its passengers.
