The participant association (VPPPA) of the voluntary protection programs announced new security and health resources with which companies and locations are to help with the achievement of an overall association committee.
The new program “Journey to Safety Excellence” by VPPPA was presented during the opening session of the VPPPA symposium 2025 Safety+ Symposium in St. Louis, MO. The program is intended to help the participants through a structured, continuous improvement plan that includes improved self-assessments and tailor-made mentoring options and officially on September 1st.
“VPPPA's new” journey towards security excellence “is the development of the association in the next 40 years by helping American companies and locations to reach the same levels and standards of performance that have reached the current locations of the Osha volunteer protection program (VPP),” said VPPPA chairman Terry J. Schulte. “By using current knowledge and specialist knowledge of VPPPA members, VPPPA has created the tools and processes to support jobs across the country on their travels to achieve health and security.”
VPPPAS “Journey towards Security Excellence” focuses on the incremental development of security processes and performance of first -class security. Participants who want to start their journey with continuous improvement will begin with a declaration of intent that shows their commitment to increase their standards for security at work. VPPPA has developed a GAP analysis tool that is available free of charge for every company or job, with which strengths and weaknesses in a company or the existing security and health management program of a company can be identified. As soon as these companies and websites have been completed, you have the option of signing a letter of obligation in which the request indicates to advance your trip. VPPPA members have access to the pool of the experienced mentors of the association, which educate and help the participants with a tailor -made guide to continuous improvement.
After an announcement by the deputy Deputy Minister of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health Amanda Wood Laihow, VPPPA starts the agency's new “ways to security and health”, which is based on the concepts of OSHA's voluntary protection program. The new path includes an expansion of the core elements from VPP from four to seven, the VPP with the recommended practices of the OSHA for security and health programs and improve the use of special government agents when expanding the program.
Schulte Schulte, “VPPPAS 'Journey towards Safety Excellence” is built to reconcile with the new Pathways program of the OSHA and to provide interested companies and websites with the resources that are necessary to successfully proceed through every level. “
“We are pleased that the leadership of Osha continues the steps to modernize the voluntary protection program,” continued Schulte. “We are grateful for the continued partnership and cooperation with Osha when expanding the scope and reach of cooperative programs.”
