Well, that was a really intense episode. I think we all saw it coming. However, before I focus on Cooper's situation, I want to talk a bit about Tommy's brief visit to Monty's mansion at the beginning Countryman Episode 6. You may have heard the phrase that the rich live in their own bubble. Tommy, who has just watched a man die in front of his eyes, enters a new world where that man's life has no real meaning. Tommy and Monty are two completely different men. Monty wakes up and looks at the pretty and expensive paintings leading to his office, while Tommy starts his day with “more bad news” on the patch. Monty's children celebrate by the pool while Tommy's son lies half dead in the hospital, fighting for his life. In this villa lives a man who is more worried about his carpet than his workers. And while Tommy, like most of us, understands the irony, there's not much he can do about it. Before he left, Tommy saw a big hole in a shiny silver circle, which just reminded him that some people like him spend their entire lives in the hole, the patch, while men like Monty make their lives more and more shiny with each passing day . And I wouldn't have felt so sorry for Tommy if he had been just another worker on the rig waiting for his next paycheck. But you see, Tommy is the man here who actually keeps this rig running. I guess some people are too proud to ask for credit, but that doesn't mean they don't want (or deserve) it.
Spoiler alert
Angela signed the divorce papers
Angela just wanted to talk to Victor in person before breaking up with him, but instead of ending things on a good note, Victor decided to act evil. As soon as Angela entered the house, she was attacked (not literally) by his lawyers, who told them that Angela's actions had invalidated the prenuptial agreement between her and her client, which in simple terms means that Angela would not get any support she pays Only a penny, she can keep the gifts, which include her Bentley. Well, Angela had just come to get the car and she got what she wanted, so she didn't mind signing the divorce papers.
Ariana did not sign the compensation form
Nathan and Rebecca arrived at the Medina house to offer them compensation for the loss of their family members while working on the patch. While the two old women signed the papers without much fuss, Ariana first wanted to ask Cooper whether she was doing the right thing or not. However, when she called Cooper, she discovered he had been attacked in his trailer and taken to the hospital. Rebecca actually wanted to do the work and could have done anything to convince Ariana to sign the papers, but before she could do so, Ariana left the house to visit Copper in the hospital. I suspect there will be tension between Rebecca and Ariana in the near future and Cooper may have to choose between his father and Ariana. You see, Nathan tried to convince the family that it was no one's fault that three men died in that accident, but he lied at all costs. Working on Monty's old and rusty oil rigs could be one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. None of his machines would meet OSHA standards if there was an official investigation the next day. So the oil well fire wasn't Medina's fault; It was all Monty's fault because he neglected to spend money on repairs that could make the job safer for the people working on the patch.
Tommy takes revenge
Cooper didn't want his father to get involved in his argument, but things had gotten out of hand. Someone had attacked the new hire at his company headquarters, and as the company's CEO, it was Tommy's duty to intervene and resolve the matter as he saw fit. He only asked Cooper to take things slow with Ariana because he didn't want the entire Medina household to come after him in case another mishap happened in the future. Before leaving the hospital, Tommy asked M-Tex apartment security to turn off all the cameras because he didn't want anyone else to see what he was about to do next. Tommy even asked Sheriff Walt Joeberg to follow him to make appropriate arrests.
In Countryman At the end of episode 6, Tommy and Dale burst into Antonio's trailer and attacked Manuel with a wrench. Boss and his men also arrived and took Antonio to another room for a private interrogation so that he could reveal the names of everyone involved in the matter. Tommy told Manuel that not only would he go to prison just for touching his child, but that he would also serve a prison sentence for possession of firearms and illegal substances that would see him serve 30 years in prison. And if he dared to go after his family again, he would ensure that he disappeared from the face of the earth. And yes, Antonio cooperated with the police and revealed the names of the attackers so that he wouldn't have to serve a long prison sentence like his cousin.
At this point, Tommy knows that his son is not suitable for such a job. He may have been lucky to survive this long, but he didn't want Cooper to risk his life like that. He always wanted to keep his family away from the Patch, and now they're all being drawn like moths to a flame, and that's really worrying. Tommy knows Cooper's closeness with Ariana won't have a happy ending, which is why he really wants to protect his son. Tommy may not have all the riches in the world like Monty, but he wants to give his children the best life possible, and he knows they won't find that in the Patch. So the question here is: what will Tommy do next?
