The news: The Engineering Services Group Worley was selected by the US energy developer Glenfarne Group to provide technical services to support the final investment decision for your Alaska LNG pipeline.
The numbers: The pipeline is part of the ambitious Alaska LNG development of Glenfarme, which includes a proposed 1,300 km natural gas pipeline, a gas treatment plant, an LNG import connection and an LNG export investment.
The pipeline will transport enough natural gas to cover domestic needs in Alaska and deliver 20 million tons per year LNG export investment.
The context: At the beginning of this year, US President Donald Trump campaigned for the massive infrastructure project and urged Japan, South Korea and other countries to invest.
Glenfarne said last month that 50 companies officially expressed interest in the project, including companies from the USA, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, India and the EU.
